The three elements that make up this series are inspired by chess, in particular the pieces of the queen, knight and rook, and due to their low weight, they can be moved easily, like on a chessboard. “These are the most playful furnishings I've ever designed,” notes Bellini, emphasizing the free, cheerful spirit with which these elements fill the room. In the original 1971 version, the Scacchi were technically quite advanced products, as their upholstery was made of self-cleaning polyurethane, a solution previously only used in the automotive industry and was first used here in the furniture industry. For the 2020 edition, this series is offered in a soft finish in smooth and shiny nap leather with decorative stitching. The shape of the three elements is based on a parallelepiped for soft polyurethane structures that are in perfect harmony with Camaleonda. An elegant perimeter metal profile is used at the base, emphasizing the geometry of the shapes and contrasting with the softness of the product itself.Specifications
